The tune "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" may have a special meaning for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt this holiday season. When the 3-year-old beauty was spotted visiting a toy store in France, she was sporting a rather authentic-looking pirate costume — including a missing front tooth.
The tooth fairy doesn't tend to start visiting lil ones until they reach the ripe old age of 6, though some get a visit up to two years earlier. According to doctors, teeth tend to fall out in the same order in which they appear, with the front two bottom teeth falling out first, followed by the top two. When a wee one loses a tooth before its usual time — either due to an accident or tooth decay — they don't usually rush off to the dentist in search of a veneer or bridge like their parents do. Instead they must wait until the permanent tooth grows in, often a few years later.
Brad and Angie's little blondie will likely be flashing her gap-toothed smile for a few years now. When did your youngster lose her first tooth?

My 2 year old just had one of his front teeth pulled. He fell on a metal slide and broke half of it off. The dentist tried to save it (had to do a mini-root canal). He was going to let it heal for a bit then build it up so it cosmetically looked better when he was 3 and could tolerate the chair better. Unfortunately it abscessed and the dentist wanted to remove it as the infection could damage his permanent tooth. So, mine will have a gap in his smile for a few years now. He did give us the option of getting a fake tooth when he's a little older as his perm one won't come in until he's 6 or 7.
1They've lost them anywhere from 5-7 years old, but my middle child had to have her front teeth pulled after she fell, and they haven't grown back yet. She looks adorable without her two front teeth.
2I lost both my front teeth when I was 3. There was something wrong with them and they had to be pulled. It looked pretty bad and that for a couple of years.
3Both me and my son are late bloomers. In first grade they had a tooth book that they could bring home and right about any teeth that fell out and everyone in the class was able to bring the book home several times through out the year and my son never got to until the very last week of the school year I was able to yank out one of his front teeth so that he could bring the book home and write about it. We made a very big deal about it and he was so proud.

5First grade isn't late, the other kids were just all on the early side. Average for a lost tooth is first and second grade.
