Many women vow to stay out of maternity clothes during their bumpy nine months. Long tunics, leggings, spacious dresses and larger sized bottoms can masquerade a burgeoning belly but few can take it to full-term leaving spandex paneled pants an inevitable wardrobe staple. As expectant wardrobe offerings become more appealing with the likes of Christian Siriano and Nicole Richie bringing their eyes for fashion to the pregnancy game, it's surprising to hear so many bumpalicious mamas still swearing off the spacious gear. Heidi Klum revealed she's staying out of the maternity apparel and is promising to wear heels until the bitter end. And according to Kim Kardashian, her sister Kourtney is putting off the tummy tent frocks for as long as possible. Kim recently wrote, "She will not buy maternity clothes. I don't know what's wrong with her."
Do tell, how many of you gave into maternity clothes during your pregnancy?

Zac Posen
Calvin Klein
Bourjois
I stayed in regular clothes for the first 2 trimesters. But, when I hit the 3rd trimester it was nearly impossible to go on doing so... the shirts were too short and the jeans could no longer clothes (with my special belly belt). Plus, once I tried on the maternity clothes I realized how comfortable they were... and had to buy some.
1I wore quite a few things that I already had in my wardrobe through the first two trimesters, but then I had to give in. Maternity jeans, especially during my second pregnancy, were an absolute must.
And really, they're buying new clothes in bigger sizes, so why not just the maternity clothes? Does it really matter at that point? It's not like you're saving a bunch of money, or anything. You're just not buying maternity clothes for the sake of not buying maternity clothes.
2I meant: "so why not just BUY the maternity clothes?"
3I'm trying to work with what's already in my closet, but we'll see how long that lasts!
4Wore regular clothes up until a few weeks prior to giving birth each time. I had a very few maternity clothes.
5I wore a bunch of Ann Taylor Loft shirts in a size up that were empire waist - they were on clearance and a great price. Maternity clothes are generally overpriced and ugly. I did have to buy some maternity pants though - hard to get around that especially for work.
6I've found a lot of really nice maternity clothes.
7I guess it just depends on what you are looking for.
i wore a lot of very cute maternity outfits
8I couldn't believe how overpriced and really unattractive maternity clothing could be! Add the idea of "baby" to anything and it makes it more expensive. So I found enough empire waist and really just one size bigger clothing (as I could get away with it), and found a lot on clearance, too!
9I found just as many cute maternity clothes as regular clothes, and for very affordable prices. Actually, I miss being pregnant because the clothes were more flattering and cuter.
Heidi Klum's lying through her teeth in claiming she's not wearing maternity clothes though.
10If you buy clothes a size bigger than you normally wear so you're only wearing them during pregnancy, that's maternity clothes in my view.
11With Baby #1 I was able to wear most of my clothes till I was about 8 months thanks to being very active. With Baby #2 I was mostly in PJs due to being on bedrest for 30 weeks. I was lucky enough with both pregnancies to lose 25lbs in the first trimester.
12I wear both. My shirts are all non-maternity but I need the elastic waist jeans. And I wear dresses that are non-maternity.
