Nothing beats the sight of an infant peacefully sleeping through the night. Though it is often a struggle to get there, most mamas can see an end to multiple night awakenings by the time their bambino is just a few months old. For those looking for something more immediate, an expensive, but innovate product might provide them with the solution they've been looking for.
Easidream ($450) is designed to mimic the sounds and feelings of the womb, right in the baby's crib. The pneumatically powered system includes a ventilated pad that fits securely under a crib mattress and gently rocks back and forth or side to side, much like the movement a baby feels prior to birth. A plush sheep that attaches to the side of the crib is also used to mimic the sound of the mother's heartbeat and glow a faint light.
Would you invest in such an item if your wee one were fussy through the night?

interesting...
1I am not even kidding, just last night I was thinking to myself someone needed to invent exactly that! My wee one is 3 weeks old and sleeps like no other as long as my heartbeat's there to soothe her, but she hates to lay by herself! I would so buy this if money was no object!
2I like the idea of it. Anything that lets them feel more secure and happy, and i personally like movements like that while I sleep. We lived on a boat for a year when I was an older teenager, and i LOVED being rocked all of the time, espeically to sleep. It's an uneven and unpredictable rock and it was fantastic.
3The idea is great but several years ago when I was a nanny they purchased a bassinet that offered the same abilities as this item but it just did not fit the bill. Their baby was very colicky and nothing soothed her and it was forever breaking. I think they tried 3 bassinets until they finally gave up.
4If it works it would be a good thing but I don't think I would spend that much money on it.
While I understand the concept, I would worry that my baby would get used to it instead of learning to sleep in his new surroundings. While I want my child to sleep, I also don't want to spoil him and ruin sleep training later on.
5I just hold my baby. Same thing, but free.
6My son used to wake me up all the time while I was pregnant.
