these children are starting at far too old of an age! at the moment of conception the mother must immediately jump into the ocean and rough water swim several miles then jump on her awaiting mountain bike and ride several miles more until she reaches the final test where she runs a 27 mile marathon preferably across Death Valley .. at which time the cells are observed in a cell splitting contest broadcast over the internet.
1i think if the kid is enjoying it, why not? if they whine once, it's okay too, but i think if they really hate it, the parents need to respect that & let them quit, even if that's in training or during the middle of the race...
2IMO, this is wrong. Let kids this young have fun and be active playing- not competing.

6I think this is a good idea as long as the kid is enjoying themselves. Doing activities like this will help build their confidence and their social skills.
