The best part about subsequent babies is the excitement of the impending bundle of joy and the relationship that blossoms between siblings. Some hospitals offer classes and tours to help prepare soon-to-be big sisters and brothers for their mother's labor and delivery. The course – generally for lil ones over the age of three – includes a tour of the maternity ward, a stop at the nursery and postpartum room, general instructions on how a new baby should be held, a snack and a story about the experience.
Boston's Brigham and Women’s Hospital's class includes role playing with dolls while Chicago's Evanston Women’s Hospital gives kiddos a graduation certificate upon their completion of the program. Did your hospital offer sibling classes? If so, did they help your family adjust to the new baby?
