That's great that they can be around each other for the sake of their kids. But I wouldn't hold your breath for a reconciliation.

and keeping with the J and K plus 8 they are parading their family around the front yard, in the daylight. who sets fireworks off in the daylight? why people who want thier precious children to be moneymakers do.

Lil, are you serious? You want them to reconcile? Jon is a smug bastard. I'm so tired of him and Kate, I still like the children (who wouldn't? They're funny and cute) but I'm over this show.

I think it's great that they are trying to enjoy the holiday with their kids.

I'm glad they can be civil for their kids too! Kate said in a interview she can't stand the thought of being away from her children on holidays, and that she will do whatever it takes to see that it doesn't happen.

Why does everyone blame JUST Jon for the demise of their marriage? It doesn't make sense. If Jon is a smug bastard, then Kate is a psychotic OCD b*tch. She has no friends or family. Now, she has no husband. The original film crew of the first few years left because of "moral" issues. There's a blog entry from 2005, BEFORE the JK+8 show, talking about how self-righteous this woman was. She had a FREE home makeover at their very first home (before the mansion & before the house on the market), and LOVED it on camera. As soon as the cameras were turned off, she started complaining!!!! She actually said, "thanks for nothing." What a "Christian" like thing to do, Kate. The blogger pretty much nailed it on the head when they referred to her as "a selfish, wish-you-could-change-your-mind kind of mother."

You would be smug too if you had to look at the possum on kates head for all these years.

wow people are so judgmental! Well I'm glad that they're able to still do family things for holidays. I think that's good for the kids

They have a gorgeous new house on several acres, with a pool and a huge backyard. Is there a reason they have their celebrations in the DRIVEWAY? Seems to me they enjoy being photographed by the press that hang out in the street.

I mean, wouldn't we all prefer to be in the back garden, on the deck, near the pools, etc? I'm sure the kids would.

STOP IT. seriously. first, their home isn't in reading. second, i'm embarrassed that if i say, 'hey i'm from reading' people automatically say 'jon and kate!' instead of 'john updike'. third, it is disgusting, no matter where they are from. PLEASE.

First of all if you watched the show, their garage is VERY far away from the street, it's not like they are sitting on the sidewalk. Second of all, who sets off fireworks on their deck, or lawn??? Fire hazard. EVERY time I have done fireworks it is either in the driveway or in the street, for safety reasons.

I bet the kids really enjoyed their father on that day. And I bet Kate nagged the whole darn time. She is so bossy.

I think that the idea of hosting a reality television show based on them is great. I mean, they have so many people supporting it and so many people agianst it - it just brings great controversity, as well as, publicity. Whether the publicity is bad or good, there are others who are going to see what their show is about and see why there is so much talk about them.

Personally, I like the show because I think the kids are adorable. It shows their true personality. Also, it brings some great ideas for thing I would like to do with my kids in the future.

As for Jon and Kate splitting up, good for them. It is time they move on.. obviously Jon cheated on her, obviously Kate is bossy and mean.. but they were in love once.. and now they have enought money to live seperate lives.

They had a nice run.. but it's time to put the show to a stop.. though, I don't doubt that they will try to milk it for all it's worth.

They aren't allowed to sit in their own driveway because there are photographers who have taken it upon themselves to set up camp in front of their house? Seriously? Do you hear yourselves?
