Many families split up their free time for a little one-on-one bonding. Pops gear the kids up for outdoor adventures while moms may plan an aquatic getaway. Before bikini clad Kate Gosselin took her eight tots on a beach trip to North Carolina, the controversial mama took Mady, one of the eight-year-old twins, on a girls' trip to San Diego leaving dad in charge of the other seven youngsters. Prior to that, Jon took Cara on a solo ski weekend in Utah.

To the first question our answer is, Yes. To the second question our answer is, No.
1i'll take the girls and go to visit my dad in san diego while my husband works,. then he'll usually fly down for the last couple of days. my husband has taken our youngest daughter on a snow weekend, but that's because my middle daughter was sick and i stayed home with her. we don't really like the idea of separate vacations, but rather than have everyone miss out it has happened.
people thought it was so odd the first time i went to san diego by myself, but actually we have plenty of friends that do it now. someone has to earn the income, and the kids need a break.
2Occasionally. When I go see my parents, I generally take one or two of the kids because we can't afford for the whole family to go. And my husband will likely take our oldest son on a baseball trip this summer.
But we make time and money to do family trips as well.
3When you have eight kids, I think it's important to give them separate time if possible, but if you only have two or three, I don't think it's as important. As for mom and dad traveling without the kids, I think it's OK, although we have not done it yet (other than one night away). I feel like our daughter is too young to leave us for a week or so, but when she is older I can see taking a vacation without her.
4I thinks there's nothing wrong with taking seperate vacations. Once in a while we all need a break away from our lives, that's why it's called a vacation. My husband and I rarely go away without eachother or the kids, but we really wish we could. Our kids are jsut too young right now. I do take them all with me to visit my parents for a week at a time usually a couple times every year. Our oldest has spent a couple days at Grandma and Grandpa's without us when he was around 3. We're looking forward to next summer when we can hopefully send the then 7 and 4 year olds to the Grandparent's for a week and have just the 1 year old at home. She needds some time without her brother and sister around too.
5hey i can't wait for mas it will be so great!!! and so will be good in 2010 & hopefully my Dog will sing merry mas to us for a long time same with the Rabbit's Guinea pig's Chicken's & Cat's!!! lolh & heap's heap's & heap's!!!
6Before my son was born, I took my daughter on a girl's weekend to visit my best friend in Los Angeles. We had a great time and once my lil guy is better on planes, I'd love to take him on a solo trip as well. My husband plans on doing the same thing with them in the future.
7I would never willingly take a vacation without my husband. I know we would both miss him if we tried.
