Kiddie Soiree: A Fab Firefighting Birthday Bash!
It's the sound of the siren, the pressure of the hose, the shiny polished trucks and the fearlessness of firefighters that fascinate youngsters. A friend recently hosted a red hot birthday bash for her four-year-old at their local station, and it was a fiery success! Though she put a lot of detail in the celebration, she did it without breaking the bank. Starting with a lesson about fire safety and what to do in case of an emergency, the fete then moved to some light fare before the aspiring firefighters got a tour of a firetruck and were invited to test their skills at handling the hose. Check out this slideshow for tips on how to plan your own themed party.

A fire station hosted a birthday party? Really? That's very cool. I am just surprised. Is that common?
1This birthday party was in Connecticut, but I know visits to the firehouse be it for field trips and/or parties are fairly common in San Francisco and the bay area.
