A c-section has a longer recovery time than most vaginal deliveries so postpartum mamas are not rushed
out of the hospital 48 hours after giving birth. The extended stay gives women more time to rest. And, some states grant a longer work/disability leave for those who had the abdominal surgery.

So get a c-sec b/c you get more rest? Load of baloney. Hospitals are not a restful place. You will rest better at home when people aren't poking you every 3-4 hours and there aren't beeping machines.
1Couldn't agree more with kmduff. I couldn't wait to get out of the hospital and get home. What about moms with other kids at home to take care of? And maybe the US should join the rest of the world and give paid maternity leave for longer than 6 weeks.
