Feeding Journals to Track Baby's Every Move
Truth be told, my husband and I tracked our kids' feeding and diaper changes on a scrap of paper for about a day before the sleep deprivation kicked in and all we wanted to do was stare at our new bundles of joy. I'm not the
perfect mother, so I understand why other women and men take the task more seriously. Perhaps five years of parenthood has us more organized to take on this task for
baby number three. We'll see, but in the meantime here are some pretty cool products up for the using.

Who has the time to write in a journal? My husband just tried to pay attention to our baby's needs without writing anything down and he is turning out just fine. Why do we need to track every move anyways? As long your baby is pooping, peeing, eating and sleeping, you are fine. Does it really matter if he poops 3 times or 5 times, as long as he is pooping?!?
1Hi MStrauss: I am a mom of two under two and the creator of Baby Brain, the iPhone app featured in this article. Totally hear you on not having enough time to keep a journal! I created this simple app so that it only takes a few seconds of time. That said, we strongly believe that the best parenting tools are instincts, love and attention!
Just wanted to address your comments. I certainly understand that not every mom or dad chooses to record information about their little one. My husband and I did it initially to make sure our daughter was eating enough, and later to see her sleep patterns.
We've heard from tons of parents who are using our app, and found that most parents do end up jotting things down (and have trouble remembering things in those early days!) regardless of their parenting style.
We've also heard from parents that they like to share this information (with babysitters, doctors, or spouses.) Or quickly view what the baby did in previous days, weeks, or months. Parents are also currently using Baby Brain to record important information like: temperatures, medicines given, reactions to new foods, etc.
For us, Baby Brain was extremely helpful as a convenient recording and sharing tool.
