Batteries are my nemesis. Every toy seems to require a different size and when my kids go searching with their favorite playthings, invariably the batteries need to be replaced. So the idea of a toy that uses a hand to provide its energy is one that I'll endorse.
Packaged in a recycled cardboard carton lil ones use their own hands to wind the Ecotronic Rocket's ($23) hand crank. The Eco Rocket then uses the stored energy to sound a realistic countdown and power up before blasting off into the air. The stored energy is also used to power flashing lights and fun sounds during the journey. Each cranking is good for several blast offs and no batteries are needed — ever.
