Why isn't "Teach your kids to swim" ever on the list of things people can do to keep their kids safe near a pool? I live in Arizona and it constantly astonishes me how many people have pools and kids who can't swim. Not that dogs and kids are the same, but when we moved to a house with a pool we threw the dogs in over and over and over again until they could swim and knew the way out. It just seems like common sense.
