Dental care for wee ones begins when their teeth come in, some pediatricians recommend that parents clean them with a damp washcloth on a daily basis. Given that there are prepackaged wipes for everything from diaper changing to hand sanitizing, it is no surprise that the concept has also been developed for your lil one's pearly whites. Tooth Tissues ($7 for a pack of 30) were created by two dentists concerned about the rise in childhood tooth decay. The natural wipes are textured to remove plaque and are fluoride, paraben and sugar-free and formulated with xylitol – a natural cavity fighter. There's no denying the convenience of wipes, but are they necessary?

I like the idea that they were invented by dentists. I never feel like I'm really cleaning my daughters teeth when I brush them with just water.
