Get Up and Walk
Though the idea of walking within 24-hours of surgery may sound ambitious, the sooner you get out of bed, the faster you will recover. A short, slow walk in the first 12-24 hours of a c-section will help get bowels moving, prevent constipation and blood clots and make you feel better. Just be sure to let your nurses know your walking plans so they can adjust your catheter and IV for the journey.
