Birthing Methods to Fit Prenatal Plans
Water Birth
Water births have become increasingly popular in the United States as women have begun combining it with Lamaze and Bradley method techniques. Water births involve the laboring mother and her coach, husband or doula, sitting in a tub with clean water between 95 and 100 degrees. The water helps relax the mama and helps labor progress, removing the weight of the baby from the mother's back and relieving pain from the uterus.
Advocates argue that "waterbirth babies benefit by transitioning from amniotic fluid to warm water, instead of exiting the womb into cold air."
