Pools, flip-flops and sundresses are just a few reasons to adore warm weather. But along with those steamy days come hot seat belts and sweaty seats. Prevent burning baby with a blazing buckle by using a Baby Seat Chiller ($30).
Taken from the freezer, the one-size-fits-all gadget is made of vinyl, flannel, and flexible non-toxic ice packs that can cool a seat and its buckles in seconds. The downfall? Unless there's a cooler in the car, it seems like this trick may only work upon home departure. I doubt the ice packs could make it through a two-hour shopping excursion in the Texas heat. But maybe the shade it provides would be enough to keep the buckles from scorching a wee leg.

I have one of these and it is awesome. And it has made it through two hour scorcher in Texas. You grab it and go (the car isn't parked in the hot sun overnight) and then when we get where we're going we put it in. Even if it's not fully frozen, it still cools the seat enough to make it more comfortable for my daughter to get in when the rest of the car is hot.
1I honestly doubt I'd get that for kids or for friends with kids. I live in Texas myself, and I have to admit, yes, the heat is pretty bad, but there's tinted windows for a reason. I'll be buying a car with tinted windows for my next car whenever I have money.
2Good idea. Right now we toss a blanket over our Marathon, but it doesn't help very much.
3I have a different brand which has a gel or something in it and it lasts about 6 hours. It's a life saver in the AZ heat! Tinting can only go so far in my experience. My car is like an oven when I go into it. The best part is you can warm it too for the winter.
4It sounds like a silly product, but the truth is it sucks when you are trying to get somewhere quickly and you finally get to your car and you can't put your kid in because the buckles are too hot. Those things take a long time to reach a normal temp.
5I think this is a great idea, my car gets so hot and unfortunately my A/C is busted so there is almost no relief, I think this would at least make it a little more bearable for my daughter and heck if they had one for my seat I'd get it too lol
6thanks.
7i agree that this is a neat product to have and at $30 im ordering one for before the july heat!!!
