When there's a pinata at a kiddie party, I start to panic. Maybe it's because at a childhood party, I stepped too close and was whacked across the head by a blindfolded kid swinging a broomstick. But over the weekend, I found relief at a fete my kids attended. While the hosts gathered lil guests for the pinata, there was no nerf baseball bat to be found. Instead, children just lined up and pulled a dangling string from the decorative box until one lucky youngster tugged on the one that made all the treasures fall.

I personally do not like these it takes the fun out of what a Piñata is. This seems boring. I do think these are good for indoor parties.
1this takes out some of the fun of pinatas, but it also removes the chance for a lawsuit
2We've always had pinata whacking at family kid parties, but we had one of these at my 5-year old nephew's birthday last weekend - he went first, grabbed all the strings and pulled. Over in seconds.
3I had a pull pinata for my daughter's 1st Birthday and it worked beautifully. How else would she have engaged the pinata? Her little cousins liked it too - all a year or younger.
