Although ABC's new show In the Motherhood outed Santa Claus in its pilot episode, we gave it another shot this week. It was comedic and entertaining, and it certainly spoke some truths about being a mom.
Last night's episode centered around mommy Jane's inability to take care of her child as well as her manny. As he took a vacation, the confident Jane was sure she could handle her baby on her own. The manny, on the other hand, knew better. Many nannies, including mine from time to time, presume they know the kid best and offer the mom tips and advice instead of the other way around.
Does your nanny think she knows best, too?

the trailer for this show was great. too bad i can't say the same thing about the actual episode. talk about STUPID! what a dumb show with bad writing. had the remote been nearby and the cat not lying on me i would have changed the channel. instead, i was held captive to watch the entire episode and waste 30 minutes of my life i'll never get back. i definitely won't be watching this again ... and i'll be surprised if it makes it.....
1we only used a nanny with our severely autistic child, but i was happy to take any suggestions she had. i think if it had been with one of my typically developing children i would have been insulted.
2I wanted so badly for this show to be good. My husband and I have tried it both weeks and it just hasn't been funny. And the Santa thing ruffled my feathers quite a bit. I was just really happy we DVR'd it and watched it after our three year old was asleep.
3If you're using Nanny as a nickname for Grandma, Nanny always knows best. So does Nonnie, Mamaw, Grammy, and Nana.
