Some couples joke that they can conceive just by looking at one another (we call those gals "Fertile Myrtles"), while others require careful planning and assistance to get there. If you're trying to get pregnant, I suggest tracking the telltale signs of ovulation and learning up on conception science. If only it really could be as simple as the birds and the bees.

Thank you sooo much! This is great information and helpful to a pretty clueless chica like me. The WebMD calculator was helpful, but I got an error message the first few times. I had to press refresh and re-do the most recent dates before it went through. The other site, baby hopes was really cool, it gave possible conception dates for girls! Cute! I hope this works!!!
1jjkendall - If you are looking to know more about ovulation and conception the best thing I can recommend is "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler.
2A lot of these sites that predict ovulation and fertility go off of past cycles and that doesn't give you an accurate look at your current cycle. Each cycle can be completely different and you can ovulate at a completely different time in each one of them. These websites go off of the assumption that every women ovulates on day 14 and that is not true!!
The book isn't expensive and it is an easy interesting read. I highly recommend it.

I have Taking Charge of Your Fertility checked out from the library right now. I gotta say it is pretty good. I am trying to support the author with a subscription to the web site but they are only in beta testing for ovusoft for macs right now.
The book is great since I came off of birth control pills recently and am charting as my body begins to regulate without the excessive hormones.
4Kia, I just came off birth control pills too (way too many side effects and the worst was the constant horrible headaches that I didn't contribute to BC at first, but haven't had them since I quit!)
Anyways, it's taking me a while to get back on cycle. I haven't had a period in two months - since I've quit the pills
I'm not pregnant (I've taken tests) but my cycle just won't get back for some reason. I'm hoping it will soon.
