I always assumed that changing a boy's diaper would be so much easier than that of a girl. In reality, they are equally challenging. Boys can make a golden mess of their room in seconds while girls are prone to urinary tract infections if you wipe the wrong way.
There's one small danger that can present itself when mommy changes her son's diaper in particular — stray hairs! Be careful not to let one of your hairs, which seem to fall out in clumps postpartum, drop into the diaper area. I've heard horror stories of moms who weren't paying attention and nearly cut off the circulation to their baby's penis! If you're blond, be extra careful since you might not even see it.

Wow — I've never heard of this. Luckily, it never happened to my son.
1Same as checking your baby's sleepers for stray threads in the feet areas - so as not to get tangled in their littles toes and cut off circulation!
2I might be a little insensitive.. but that seems like a stretch! I mean be it's good to take precausions, but hairs.. cutting of the circulation to their penises? Hm..
3that's really scary...poor babies. I just sent this link to my sister since she's about to have a baby boy
4This happened to my brothers toe when he was a little baby. Now any time my son is freaking out for no apparent reason I strip him down to look for hairs.
5As if new moms didn't have enough to fret about...good thing I have dark hair I guess because it gets EVERYWHERE.
6this happened to my friend's baby while with the nanny - scary!
7I never would have thought about that. Thank goodness I didn't have that problem with my boy.
8omg! who knew??? as if new moms didn't already have enough to worry about!
