One Dayton mom brought multitasking to an entirely different level. Genine Compton was issued a ticket after the driver of another vehicle called police to report that Compton was breastfeeding her one-year-old daughter and talking on her cell phone while driving. While the mother of five doesn't deny the charges, she doesn't believe she should have been issued a citation for something the officer didn't see. She faces a child endangerment charge in court next week in addition to the ticket.
this is reckless and selfish. i understand that it is hard to drive with a screaming baby in the back but that is no excuse to breastfeed a child in a car that YOU are driving! if the child
is truly starving she should stop the car and feed her and then put her back in her seat and continue on her way...although at this child's age i think a hand held snack would suffice.
Not only does she think she didn't deserve it, but she says she'll listen to input but not promise to never breastfeed and drive again. That's lovely. Because putting your unrestrained child
between you and an airbag is much preferable to letting them cry for a few minutes while you make a school run.
meandtheo, I disagree that a hand-held snack would suffice though. My daughter is a year and I absolutely will not give her snacks in the car because she still doesn't do well with texture.
The risk of her choking isn't worth it, but if she got hungry while I was dropping the older ones off at school she can cry for a bit until I can pull over or get home.

That is completely irresponsible! My aunt was breastfeeding her son while driving as well, and ended up getting in a car accident (20+ mph into a wall). Thank goodness everyone came out
alive. I cannot tolerate people's ignorance to safety.
I love the fact that she was most upset that the cop ticketed her even though he didn't see her in the act. So it's OK to endanger your kids when the cops aren't watching? Her nonchalant
attitude over the whole thing really bums me out
Her attitude towards it is most disturbing. She knew she was doing something wrong, but still doesn't feel she should get a ticket and then admits she might do it again if necessary. They
should pull her license.
On another driving issue, I can't stand the people who drive with their dogs on their laps. Twice in the past week I have been stuck behind someone on the highway driving 45 with their damn
dog on their lap with its head out of the window.
