Baby Accessory Makers Move Into Toys
Manufacturers of some of the most popular baby accessories on the market are expanding their reach with new toy lines.
Skip Hop, which started as a diaper bag company, will be introducing a line of toys for infants that mimic the modern feel of the rest of their products. The line includes the Funky Farmyard Activity Gym ($60), musical soft blocks, chime balls and a farm mirror that can be used in the crib, on the floor and in vehicles.
Maclaren will debut their first plush toy collection in April. The "by Air, by Land, by Sea" themed items include hand-held bunnies, planes and race cars, stroller bar toys and hanging stroller toys. The company is also expanding their toy stroller line with their first play jogging stroller.
