Keeping children germ free and healthy can feel like a full-time job. There are bugs everywhere and cold weather and busy schedules make them more susceptible to sickness. While there are some simple ways to help prevent colds, they are an inevitable part of being a growing child.
When I was young my mom made giant cast-iron pots of thick soup filled with veggies to help me and my siblings recover from colds and under-the-weather weeks, a tradition that I gladly carry on. A friend recently shared that she makes her children orange juice Popsicles to help her children load up on Vitamin C during the Winter. What's your staple mommy elixir for keeping your kids on top of their game and bug free?

Plenty of sleep, well balanced meals, vitamin C and lots of hand washing.
And if she happens to get sick I'll make her my homemade chicken soup......
1I am not a mommy yet but if anyone visiting my home gets a little hint of a throat tickle I squeeze some lemon into some honey and let them suck on small spoonfulls.
