They say kids grow up fast, but Ty, the toy company famous for making Beanie Babies, has given Malia and Sasha Obama a lil push. The manufacturer is now marketing dolls in the supposed likeness of the 7- and 10-year-old first daughters. Only instead of capturing their classy and age-appropriate essence, the young ladies were made to look like identical teenagers. What's your opinion — would you buy these for your child?

This is so outrageous... I wonder what the president would think of these imitations.
I'm sorry - but does the doll in green representing Malia, really have BOOBS? 10 years old.. are you kidding? Wow.
Turning a seven-year-old girl (and her older sister) who did not choose to be in the spotlight into a toy is beyond creepy to me.
Why are they identical? That's a little offensive.
Feel sorry for these girls. Too much pressure and attention.
I agree with the first post! They shouldn't be allowed to release the dolls.
This is insane - let them be kids without the scrutiny!
weird. but i don't get how they are dolls of the president's daughter. does it say that somewhere on the site, or do the dolls just have their names?
Why does "Marvelous Malia" have breast and she's only 10 years-old?? Not cool.
This is weird - let them have some normalcy. I'm glad I'm not in the public eye and people can't attempt to make creepy dolls that are supposed to look like me but fail miserably
These are ridiculous - I hope they don't really make it to the shelves and are pulled if they do.
why are they identical? why do they have bigger boobs than me?
crazyy!
Im sorry but you cant just whip out the african american generic dolls and call them the presidents daughters and expect the public to buy it. Lame
I agree with other posters - all they did was put the Obama girls' names on dolls that bear no likeness and in fact, are identical to each other! I think it's poor form and not an appropriate representation of these young ladies.
Why does it seem like the toy industry is encouraging the sexualization of little girls?
In defense of some of us in the toy industry, check out www.karitokids.com for great dolls and books that teach children about other countries and cultures and also about charity. Lulu, our doll from Kenya, is a beautiful example of what ethnically accurate dolls can look like!
Thanks for posting a link to the Obama action figure - the pictures are HILARIOUS - especially the one of Obama battling Darth Vader.
I think the dolls are cute and except from the names have nothing to do with Obama's daughters.
Ummmm.... kinda creepy because they look too old and look NOTHING like the girls themselves.
here is the white house response
