No. I've tried and it's ended up being money thrown away since I can't predict what my children's sizes will be in a year.

But I voted "other" because I'm not worried, I just know for a fact it's difficult to predict. *lol*

Generally, I think it's too hard to predict. But I did get a couple of tops on sale at Nordstrom that I hope he'll be able to wear next fall. I think tops are easier and have more wiggle room.

No.It would be next to impossible for me to judge what size my daughter will be wearing the following year especially when she has her growth spurts.Occassionally I've given some of her things away with the tags still on because she grew out of them long before she had the chance to wear them.It's much easier and less wasteful just to take her shopping whenever her clothes or shoes start looking like they are getting too small for her.....

I did last year.. I bought a ton of her winter clothes on clearence for a couple bucks each. Its easier with a baby though, and the month thing to go by. I knew she would be 12 months old in winter, and she has always been off the charts height wise, so I got her a bunch of 18 and 24 month clothes, and voila! They fit perfectly. Its cold here though and snows, so if they didnt fit now, she could still wear them through spring.

Yeah, I for sure think it is easier to predict size when they are babies. I also bought things that I wouldn't mind if they fit my son early, since he could wear long sleeves at the end of the summer instead of mid-winter. I can buy staples like jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts, but buying anything seasonal has always ended up being a mistake. It has backfired, though. Last year my son was 13 months old at Christmas time and just getting into 18 month pjs. I bought a bunch of 18 month ones when they went on post-Christmas sale, but decided not to buy any 2T. Sure enough by mid-February he had had a huge growth spurt and needed 2T pajamas and we couldn't find them anywhere!

Old Navy for staple item:solid tee's in white, red, navy, pink-classic colors, denim, hats,socks,knit sweaters. Thing I know get dirty, and will get even dirtier (she's 5 months-much more dirt to come!)

Everything else we buy as we shop normally. I did however find some of the cutest,classic,40's baby dresses at Macy's. A $100 plaid Ralph Lauren dress with matching bloomers for $20. Stuff like that I just have to get and keep, even thought it's 2T. Things that will never go out of style are a must.
