My friend faces a major dilemma when it comes to her son's birthday. He is not a fan of cake, regardless of the shape or flavor she presents. While other kids eagerly await their slice of birthday cake, her son seeks ice cream.
In planning his party this year, she decided to mix things up a bit and create something that will make both guests and the guest of honor happy — ice cream cone cakes. Prior to the party, she is baking the cupcakes in the cones and will have the tots decorate them with colored icings, sprinkles, crushed cookies and candies. After a roaring rendition of "Happy Birthday," she will serve up traditional ice cream cones to the celebrants and give guests a special box to take their cupcake home in.

3These are not ice cream cake though. It is cake in a ice cream cone, so easy to eat and tasty too!!!
4I just hate how stale the cone tastes after baking, so I make myself a regular cupcake and the kids the cone ones.

My mom has often made
these for special kid-focused occasions and it always seemed like my family were the only people who knew about them! When I taught preschool I brought these in for my kids- they're awesome
for the littlest children because they can hold them easily by themselves and they LOVE the novelty.

7we had 2 parties with actual ice cream cakes from 31 flavors (the kids were 4 and 6) and none of the kids would eat the cake. they said the cake and frosting were too cold and not all of them even wanted ice cream.
8That's why these are great - the novelty of an ice cream cone but no ice cream, no melting, no brain freeze.
9I made these for my daughter's 6th birthday and took them to her school. They were a hit! Everything is edible so there was no mess, you can decorate them anyway you want, they were perfect! I highly recommend other mothers making them, kids love them!

My cousin had a ice cream cake from baskin robbins and it was gross. Nobody ate it because since its actual cake with ice cream it had to be frozen(obviously) and frozen cake is pretty weird.
I do love Carvels ice cream cakes though because its just ice cream and the crunchy things hehe.
I LOVEEEE the cupcake cones. I make them for birthdays and they are always a hit.
