With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season about to become history, I'm already looking forward to 2009. Several moms I know said that the hectic holiday season has pushed them over the edge. Despite the economy, they are planning child-free getaways in the next month even if it's just one night at a local hotel.
Are you planning to take a break?
We are going to Aruba with my husbands entire family so I am happy to bring my son along!!! Maybe it will feel kid-free when my in-laws watch all the kids at night and we get to go out.

Nope. We're going to see my parents in March. But I wouldn't take a child-free vacation while my daughter's still nursing anyway. The pumping would ruin any relaxation time.

The last time I had a child-free vacation was on my honeymoon, and we have four so far.

We took two days away in October and will be gone two days next week. Neither were really vacations as much as things that the baby and 9 year old wouldn't enjoy or be able to attend. The first was a wedding in Vegas and next week is MacWorld (we have Apple related obligations for nearly the entire time we are there). While it is hard to leave the boys sometimes a little mommy daddy alone time is very refreshing. I don't think I could go longer than 48 hours at this point though.
