A diaper bag has become more of a fashion accessory than nappy slinging tote. From girly Petunia Pickle sacks to pricey Juicy Couture bags, ladies have the pick of the litter. The unfortunate flip side of the fancy bags is that many of us have a husband who refuses to lay a finger on our pretty paisley packs. So think about investing in a bag that's suitable for both parents such as the Diaper Dude ($60). Each diaper dude is made with function in mind, but is cool enough to pass as a hip messenger bag that either sex won't mind carrying around town.

We registered for that bag and received it as a gift. We also got a Petunia Pickle Bottom bag that has become the main bag. I don' feel like the Diaper Dude (is that really its name?) had enough room in it. The pockets didn't feel functional- when are you ever going to carry three bottles at the same time? Well I didn't have that need and that's what it felt like those zippered compartments were made for.
1We don't carry bottles a tall, which made this a very poor choice for us. Although my husband's never minded carrying the diaper bag no matter what it looked like.
2I think I was more worried about him carrying a girly bag than he was. He doesn't care about the one we use, but then again it's not overly girly.
