If we can talk on the phone hands-free, is there any reason we shouldn't be able to pump that way? Any mom who has ever tried to relax while pumping knows it's no easy feat. Try to read a book while holding the contraption's horns up to your breasts. More likely than not, you will drop something and end up spilling some hard earned liquid gold. PumpEase ($34), a bra-like, stretchy fabric goes right over your nursing bra and has little slits to hold the pump's pieces in place, leaving your hands free to multitask.
Would you invest in one?

No but only because I was able to borrow one first and realize it was all wrong for me. I know a lot of people who found it invaluable and I do recommend it when friends seem to have a need, it's just that for me it was even more difficult. I just rested the bottles on my knees and read a magazine or book while I pumped. I'm very large breasted and short-torsoed, though. For someone who can't balance them that way, it works well.
1yikes, that's a scary looking contraption.
2That might work fine for a flat-chested model, but I hardly think it would stay in place on anyone with some jiggle (let alone a DDD cup).
3I hear ya, Mishell! I doubt that thing would even fit over my 36G boobs. I balance the bottles between my knees but I am thinking of modifying one of my non-nursing bras to hold my pumps in place.
4It is kinda creepy, but I hated not being able to use my hands or hold my son while I was pumping. I might have even pumped longer if I was hands free!
5I just inserted the cups into the nursing bras that I was wearing and pumped like that. Same idea, without the added cost of yet another item. I just wanted to be hands free to read!!!
6To all the big-boobed doubters out there- I was a 34I when I was nursing and within the first 2 weeks of my son being born I had constant wrist pain from holding the pumps. This was a LIFESAVER for me and definitely works with big boobs. It's not meant to provide real support- just hold the pumps on, and it definitely did that.
7I'm a 34I as well, but I'm not a doubter.
It fit, it just didn't work for me at all.
8I just cut a sports bra to accomplish the same thing - much cheaper and easier!
9I have a similar product and LOVE it. When I initially went back to work I was pumping 3-4 times a day. It was the only way I got anything done!
10There's an actual bra that allows for it rather than putting a band over your existing bra, but it didn't come in my size. I think it was available through LLL.
11I would have tried that. I hated not having my hands available and was so stressed about it that I would put off pumping which wasn't the best for someone who only pumped. I tried putting them in my nursing bra and they just wouldn't keep the suction enough to stay on. I tried the knee thing but couldn't get the angle as I needed to really push down on them to get them to stay. In a really sleep deprived state I even tried taking a really tight tank top I had and cutting some holes in it. That was actually pretty funny looking back on it. And wow we got some really chesty mamas on here!
12I would probably have liked this, or a bra of the same idea, if my milk had come in. pumping was a long, process that required me to hold both bottles up with my hands, which left me staring at the walls for however long i pumped. Im small chested though, so there wasnt any resting avail for me, lol.
13this was a lifesaver!! I had a preemie & spent HOURS pumping while she was in the NICU. It was so nice to have free hands! def. worth the $35!!
14The main reason I stopped pumping is because I hated feeling like an invalid for 20 minutes every 2 hours or so. Staring at walls, isolated from the family (it's not like my brother or mom wanted to see me pump) I hated it!
15If I would've gotten this I might've been tempted to pump-feed a little longer.
