I am always searching my purse and pockets for the appointment cards that we get on the way out of my kids' pediatrician appointments. When shots are involved my only goal is to get out the door. So it isn't until days, weeks or even months later that I remember the small paper reminder the receptionist handed to me as my wee one wailed or flailed in my arms.
To keep tabs of my children's appointments as well as my own, I use the camera on my BlackBerry to take a snap shot of the card and its important information. Then when I have time later, I type the details into my calendar so it sends me a reminder. This trick also comes in handy for dry cleaning tickets.

1I guess thats easier to do then just writing it into your calendar in your phone?
2I don't have a camera on my phone, so this is a genius idea! I always misplace the cards, too.
3Sorry I meant I don't have a CALENDAR on my phone. I do have a camera.
4I'm too in the stone ages to even have a Blackberry or calendar on my phone, so I'll have to stick to the card on the refrigerator with the date also entered in my computer's calendar. No matter how much I want a cool device, I can't justify the monthly service fees.
5Do you pay extra for picture as well, or not have a camera phone? I plan to just take this idea and photograph the card, no putting it into a calendar anywhere.
6Grrreeaat tip lil - losing appointment cards is the WORST! I did it the other day and couldn't remember the name of the doctor's office to call and find out the appointment. Talk about a nightmare!
7i have to make our dr appts MONTHS in advance... so when i'm at the drs office i put the card IN my calendar (im old school like that i like keeping reciepts & notes & fortune cookie fortunes in there). BUT i've got my fingers crossed for the iphone from santa this year... we'll see what happens, maybe i'll be able to use this great tip.
8I put it in my calendar on my iPhone but occasionally stuff that is too far in the future glitches out and vanishes. Then I have to call and find out when the baby's appointment is. I do like this and using my iPhone camera for other stuff as well

10i usually stick the cards in my wallet behind the credit cards, been doing it for years with drs/vets/whatever apts. havnt missed or lost one so far
