Many moms and dads believe the world will be a better place for our children with Barack Obama as President. A recent Newsweek piece speculated that a baby boom might be a result of this euphoric election. Does our next Commander-in-Chief make you want to have a baby?

Not in the least.
I'm a little creeped out.
I agree with foxie, what a weird reason to have a baby. I would hope a person would have better reasons to have one.
how ridiculous
The article actually isn't at all about Obama making people WANT to have a baby. It's about how people celebrated the election and had sex. The same often happens after a disaster, people reaffirm their existence by having sex and a baby boom happens.
Yeah, the article clearly stated that already. It's still creepy.
I don't think that situation is creepy at all. I just don't get how lilsugar jumped from that to the question.
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
No, but the VW Routan does. Haven't you seen the commercials?
Those are the STUPIDEST commercials. And they prove how wooden Brooke Shields is as an actress.
i didnt read the article, but i would think that people may want their child born into this term of presidency because obama has made history and they want to be a part of that
there's nothing wrong with that, as long as people are ready to have children. they have at least 4 and possibly (hopefully) 8 years, however to actually make this committment
I just want a baby! lol
lol, me too kikidawn! but i'm 20 so maybe in 4 years.
It just so happens that my husband and I will probably have our first child while he's in office, NOT because he's in office, but because that's what we've been planning.
what the Heck kind of question is this? i dont get it.
Weird question
I want to have a baby soon but it has nothing to do with Obama.
Well, my husband and I want to have a kid in the next 3-4 years but it really has nothing to do with Obama. HOWEVER, having a president in power that I respect and trust does make me a little more optimistic about the world we'll bring our baby into.
i don't think it's that weird of a question...i am already pregnant but i will say i'm a bajillion times more excited and hopeful about bringing my baby into a world where obama is president. i wouldn't have gotten pregnant BECAUSE of him but it makes me happy to know that my baby went to the polls with me (in utero) and will be born during his presidency. had the election gone the other way, i would have tried very hard to figure out how to keep my baby inside for another 4 years
That headline is pretty funny. Before I read everything else I thought "hmmm, I don't think I find him all that hot"
He makes want to barf...not have a baby.
Yeah, if you don't read the Newsweek article, and particularly if you just read the title, it's a weird question. But no, he has no bearing on my child bearing. Heh.
I want a baby, but Barack is not the reason, lol
While I am a huge Obama supporter, that doesn't have any bearing on whether or not I will get pregnant.
Actually it was kind of the other way around for me...my fiance and I will definately start our family within the next 8 years, which made me consider what kind of world I bring my babies into...and I wanted them to be born into a time where I could trust that they would have their needs met, have a good education, healthcare, etc. so long as my fiance and I do our parts. So I voted for Obama.
You would think that the failing economy would make some people pause with decisions to have more children. I know that I'd LOVE another, but not with the world in this situation.
And yes, post 9/11 there was a baby boom.... I was pregnant at that time and a lot of those children entered school last year with a lot of the remaining babies of the boom starting school this year. These are some of the largest entering kindergarten classes that our school system has ever seen. And we live pretty close to a major military base.
who the hell said yes to that? LOL!
I agree with people saying this is a ridiculous question!
If your going to get pregnant and have children just because of Obama or for any other reason that is politically driven, you should not have children.... How ridiculous.
well, i was already pregnant when he was elected. but, being pregnant did make me look at certain issues a certain way when deciding who i wanted to vote for.
To each its own. I think this new administration has brought hope, especially to women who had to put up with 8 yrs of BS from a man who thought he knew what was right for us. There is history being made in the white house, so if someone wants to make their own history, so be it. People get pregnant because of more outrageous things then a president.
