I totally agree BLAG...this is not a man and the media does need to stop saying it is. While a baby is a wonderful thing, I think that they should be thinking about those children and the strange confusing situation they are putting them in.

I agree with cherrygirl. Have these women thought about the ridicule their children will be faced with? I just think this is very selfish coming from two women who have endured the same ridicule they are bestowing on their children! I'm in no way against any person's sexuality, and I will teach my children to be accepting of everyone no matter their preference, but not every parent will do the same! Seriously, in most states, gay marriage is still illegal! What does that preach to children?

While I have no issues with transgendered people in general or with couples of various orientations having children, I agree with the majority here that this person is not a man at all. Not only will it be confusing and hard on their children, which I think is incredibly selfish, but I think it makes acceptance for all transgendered people more difficult as this is totally contrary to the whole process.

A LOT of gender identity issues with that guy (yes, guy), but whatever. Not my life, not my kids.

My only complaint is that since he is technically still female they shouldn't get to be an exception for gay marriage. That's completely unfair to the rest of the gay community.

I was absolutely speachless. One child and we all thought this was beautiful, different, uniquie. You must think, the world is harsh and judgemental. You are opening your childred up to a whole new level of torture. If you wish to continue having children, do this like everyone else and limit the announcement to friends and family, not the entire world. I feel for what these children will have to go through.

i think it be different if he kept his/her mouth shut because kids are cruel, my son has a cross eye and kids can be mean, can you imagine something as severe, and the whole world knows so there is no shielding these kids, had he kept it discrete his kids probably would have never know the parents could have continued living their lie.

I don't care how these two want to have children or manage their family. It just irks me that the media goes on and on about "a man having a baby" when it's just a woman having a baby. I'm all for people sorting out their gender issues and doing what they please, but if you have a uterus capable of growing another human being, you're a woman, not a man. That's just the way it goes. I have no issue with them having children, but life is going to be hard enough for these kids (Kids are just CRUEL to other kids in seemingly NORMAL families) without adding this factor to it. Kids won't look at whether it's right, wrong or otherwise. It's different and they'll glom onto that fact and make the childrens' lives a living hell.

WHAT THE F*CK? I'm sorry, but if you have female parts, you are still a woman so the idea of "the pregnant man" is misleading. I think she is actually a lesbian, who considers herself/himself a male in order to fit the typical parental mold. They could raise their child(ren) whatever way they want, but "Thomas" is still a woman IMO.

Thie thing is, the way they put out in public, EVERYONE is going to know these parents are not "typical" and these poor kids are going to suffer the consequences. If they were just quiet about it and went about their business, maybe not everyone would notice and they would just think Thomas is an effeminate man.
