I've said that before! I normally just say that I love them, but I've def. said it and I def. understand!

I say that I'm in love with my family and friends. I never mean it in the way where I would say I'm in love with my boyfriend or husband, but I mean it in a loving way. It just seems deeper when you say that, IMO.

yes. it's a out of this world feeling that you are so caught up in everything about them. i suppose it's nature's way of protecting the species; mom better care and be concerned so they have what they need to survive.

I love my stepdaughter, but I wouldn't say I'm in love with her. Then again, I don't have the maternal bond with her that naturally exists between a mother and her child. With or without it, I love her, and she is one of my favorite people in the whole world!

But, I don't use that turn of phrase "in love" about them. To me it has romantic connotations.

I don't have children, but I feel extremely close to my cousin's children the eldest one is 8 years younger than me) and I have always felt the loving feeling that a mother has for her child. I do say that I'm in love with them and they are just precious kids.
