Celebrities have become the poster children for adoption. Meg Ryan and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt created families from children from around the world while Sharon Stone built her brood by adopting American babies. Mothers and fathers have reasons for making their choices as lil ones everywhere are in need of parents that love them.
If you were to adopt which option would you pursue?

I just think it's a very personal decision. I have three boys and have always told my husband that instead of ever trying for a girl, we would adopt a baby girl from China. I think wherever people adopt from, their decision should be applauded.
1Adopting any child is a wonderful thing to do. Isn't adopting a child from overseas super expensive? If so, that would limit my options.
2lawchick, it depends on what country. the agencies I've looked into in China, are much much cheaper than the US. And faster too. I can't wait to adopt, I've wanted to adopt twin baby girls from China since I was 11.
3The agencies can be cheaper, but getting there to pick up the child can run more expensive than just adopting within the US. There's so many factors. Our friends have looked into both and the most affordable they've found for themselves is local.
We likely won't adopt but if we did I'd check out both thoroughly, and I have no idea which we'd choose.
4either...
5If I hadn't gotten pregnant with this little boy, we were going to adopt a little boy from China.
A family who lives down the street from us has 6 kids, two international adoptions, two local adoptions, and two biological children. They have two 8 year olds, two 5 year olds, and two 3 year olds! It's the funniest little thing, but they're all so cute.
6For me, I feel like there are so many kids here in America wh need good homes that I would rahter adopt from here. That being said I think any body who adopts is amazing. My best friend in the whole world was adopted from Korea when she was almost a year old and had extreme medical issues.
7probably mexico or here
8Ummm I think that if I were to adopt it would be from Jamaica or domestically. But in the back of my mind I have always been interested in adopting a little girl from China.
9it would depend more on cost... a lot of adoptions are in the 10s of thousands. I cannot afford that
10Well adopting from America would be international adoption for me. So both answers are the same.
I would adopt internationally because those children have a greater risk of fying young and the orphanges in for example Africa or Eastern Europe are far worse than those in developed countries.
11I've already adopted internationally and would like to adopt domestically this time. My first experience was great and I wouldn't change a thing, but I want to do some things different this time. I think I'm definitely more interested in a semi open or open adoption this time.
Adoption is such a blessing! My son is my world!
