5I've heard the term before; it is very commonly heard in the North East! My sister and I were 16 months apart and people referred (incorrectly to us) as Irish Twins or Bookends all the way up until High School...
My first two kiddos are 3 years apart and then our 3rd (due in 5 weeks!!) will be 10 years younger than our first, and 7 years younger than our second!!! Are we crazy....we are starting over but missed having a little one around the house so much that here we are. It is actually really wonderful to see how excited our older two are about the baby and I think when they get older, they will share a special bond with her because they'll remember so much more about this stage of our family's life....
