Sugar mamas have once again proved to be a wealth of information! A while back, I asked you to suggest some songs for my delivery room experience. So far, I've got the following:
- "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon
- "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys
- "Blackbird" by the Beatles
- "Lullabye" by the Dixie Chicks
- "Little Star" by Madonna
- "Another Sunny Day" and "If She Wants Me" by Belle and Sebastian
Keep sending me the love with song recommendations in comments below. Next week, I'll compile a full list for all of you to share.

Corny as it may be, my favorite was Angel of the morning by Juice Newton.
1someone like you, van morrison (soundtrak of bridget jones diary)
2I'm having a boy, and one of them on my playlist is the acoustic cover of "Simple Man." Shinedown did the cover in two versions, the acoustic is much better.
3"I could hold you in my arms" by Ray Lamontagne
"heavenly Day" Patty Griffin
two of the most beautiful songs, i have used them both for video montages of my little one...
4that slow halleluia song...not sure what it's about but its very relaxing
and open arms by mariah carey
and butterfly kisses by bob carlisle
5As soon as my little guy was born the song "Mint Car" by The Cure popped into my head. The lyrics in the song were so relevant to how I was feeling at the time and now it will always be my song for him.
6You might try "A New Day Has Come" by Celine Dion. It's not my usual type of music, but this song continues to resonate with me ever since I conceived after years of infertility.
7Martina McBride's "In My Daughter's Eyes" if you're having a girl, I get sentimental every time I hear it. Also Fireflies by Faith Hill. I don't know if those are exactly delivery room songs by they calm me down and my colicky girl after she was born,
8"Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley
skigurl
9Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder! Such a sweet sweet song.
10The first line of Dare You to Move by Switchfoot-
"Welcome to the planet, welcome to existance"
just does it for me everytime. When my babies were born, I'd sing that to them every chance I got to hold them (they were preemie twins). and naturally I'd sob.
11If you're having a girl, I'm a fan of "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder.
"A Whole New World" from Aladdin
"I Hope You Dance"
12"My Baby You" by Marc Anthony - LOVE IT!
13I had a few I loved on my labor mix:
"Things We've Handed Down" - Marc Cohn
14"I Will Keep the Bad Things From You" - Damnwells
"Gracie" - Ben Folds
"Woman' Work" - Kate Bush
"Maternity Ward" by Art Brut.
15"Go On" by Jack Johnson
16"Somewhere over the rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
I threw in "Burning Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash to add a little humor and break up the array of sweet songs.
17We rocked out to Green Day, Ani Difranco, Amy Winehouse and Kanye West.
