Even the most mundane of errands can end up in disaster if proper precautions aren't taken when tots are in tow. Seven-year-old Timothy Clark and his sister, 5, were playing at the laundromat while their mother cleaned clothes and fed her newborn. Things took a turn for the worse when the boy climbed in a machine that was supposedly broken, but it turned on and trapped him inside while filling with water. With babe in hand, his mother was able to rip him from the machine after the frightening experience. The child, who is now in the hospital, suffered a swollen head, scrapes, bumps and bruises. Let this instance be a lesson to parents — never allow your kids to climb or play with appliances, even those that are out of service.

insane, Im glad he's alright.
1Ow wow...I hope he's fine
2I'm so glad he's ok.
I do find the title misleading though. There often is no choice but to bring "lil ones" to the laundromat, and there's nothing wrong with that.
The advice on where they play within the laundromat, however, is sound.
3I used to wash clothes for the YMCA down at the laundrymat and parents would just let thier kids run wild, used to bother me.
4wow i am so glad this story ended with somewhat of a good ending, not so much for one of my good friend, his baby was killed, he had just had a newborn and the 2 year old wanted to help her with putting the clothes in the washer she was breastfeeding the baby in the living room did not realize the two year old was trying to help her fell in head first and drowned and died, she found him a few minutes later after feeding the baby, she had called out for him, it was an honest mistake but we need to be more careful, this little boy pushed a stepping stool from the restroom to reach and put the clothes in and unfortunately he died in the name of helping
5wow....glad the boy is okay.
6pinkprincess...how sad!
Poor thing, you have to keep a better eye on the kiddies.
7Crazy!! Glad he is okay and that the mother was paying attention.
8In L. A. about maybe about seven years ago a boy was playing in a laundry mat and had his arm torn from his body when he was playing with a washing machine while unsupervised. He was airlifted to Children's Hospital to undergo reattachment surgery and quite an extensive recovery process. Yeah, watch your kiddies when you go to wash your clothes.
