Every time our family has an early flight, we cut it close. The shuttle or taxi usually arrives just as I'm about to lose my mind. Then we head to the airport and have to kill time with irritated kids. Getting two tired tots up, bathed, and dressed can cause parents quite a bit of stress. I've noticed things run much smoother when I treat my tots to a bubble bath the night before and let them dress for the next day before hopping in bed.
They think it's wild to wear clothes as pajamas and my husband and I don't have to worry about the extra time it takes to get them ready. Since we can carry them straight from their beds to our transportation, they are also likely to sleep all the way to the airport. This tip also works for wee-hour-of-the-morning road trips.

We do the clothes thing as well, or they just travel in their jammies. Although most of the time they wear tshirts and sweats to bed anyway.
I can't imagine ever trying to bathe the morning of the trip rather than the night before.
1Our bathtime is usually at night anyway - to help her sleep.
I always just grab our daughter in her Jammies when we have to go some where early.
2My parents used to do this with us for road trips... we would leave in the middle of the night so that we would stay sleeping.
3Same here, alethia.. even when we would move across country, theyd get us ready the evening before and around 2-3am they would get up, chuck us in sleeping, and then we would head out. I was never able to continue sleepoing, but my 3 siblings always did
