I've got a new house on the horizon, and it has got me hunting for unique nursery decor. Since the baby's gender is unknown, I found this magical stork that would be perfect eye candy for a girl or boy's digs.
Artist Tamar Mogendorff handcrafts the romantic feathered friend with vintage linen and silk and completes the gem with a pouch attached to the bird's beak. At $245, some may assume a baby comes with the package. For the craftsmanship and aesthetic nature, I'd be willing to spend it, even if it's the only ornament in my wee one's room.

that is pretty pricey... but if you love it, i wouldnt scoff at it, because i spent similar on a wallpaper tree (that i absolutely LOVE TO PIECES and dont regret the pricetag at all 9 months later)... it's something that will grow up w/our lil one. got it at romp in brooklyn (they have a website)... we got furniture hand me downs so i decided to splurge w/that one item because i loved it. this and the wee gallery flash cards that i mounted on the wall in frames over his dressing table (that he LOVED he talked to them when i would change him) were the decorations we had at first... now i've added a few others. and we're hanging some paper lanterns (on sale at potterybarn for $4.50 btw) from the ceiling this wk/end... i add or move things as he (i) gets bored w/them....
1it's beautiful .. and yes, pricey, but could become a family heirloom
2its cute, and you spend so much money on all of the baby equpiment anyway, when you look at it afterwards its a drop in the bucket. They need so much money for being so little
