The mother of twins turned the loss of one of her beloved babes into an opportunity to help other children struggling to live. Born three and a half months premature, Leo and Kelley Durant's son, Cameron and daughter, Ressa, fought to survive. Unfortunately, the little girl died of an infection at just three weeks old. But, the postpartum mom continued to pump her breastmilk for the next 17 months and recently made her last final donation to the Mother's Milk Bank of North Texas. In total, Kelley donated 100 gallons in her daughter's name.

This is so awesome and touching. It brought tears to my eyes. I'm a breastfeeding mom of twins (mine will be 2 in a few weeks) so I fully commend her for pumping like she did. It's not an easy task.

I think that her gift is wonderful. I breastfeed my son for 17 months and would have be so touched to have been given a gift like that if I had not been able to provide it myself. Even two weeks of the milk can have lasting benefits.

Very selfless. This is so touching and maybe b/c me and the babe has the same name. Freaky.

I'm a newly-pregnant first-time mommy, and this story just wrenches my heart. Completely devastated as she surely is, she still managed to make something wonderful come out of this. Amazing.

That is so very impressive. I did the pumping only thing and just couldn't keep up my supply for my one little guy.

Such a beautiful thing to do, what an amazing woman. I used donated breastmilk - only for 3 days - and it was about the only breastmilk my daughter got, I produced next to none. I thank that woman so much for just easing me into motherhood with a little less guilt.

Milk donation is a WONDERFUL gift, no doubt--with my last two babies we donated about 8000 oz to two different milkbanks and some Mom-to-Mom donations. Human Milk Banking guidelines state that milkbanks don't accept milk from donors once their babies reach their first birthday. How is it that this mom continued to make donations until her baby hit 17 mos?

Not squashing the wonderfulness of this story, just questioning some of the FACTS.
