Excited doesn't begin to describe how my 20-month-old feels about his big boy bed. When his mattresses and pillows arrived, all he could say was, "Wow!" Though he spent nary a full night in his crib, the lil bugger doesn't mind slipping between his motorcycle sheets for some rest and relaxation. Since he's a bit of a roller, we invested in a Bedbugz Bed Bolster ($35) to ensure his safety. The inflatable, cloth-covered cushion was a snap to secure to the bed, and allows me to get some shuteye, too.

Ahhh...a sleeping prince. Very cool product. Unfortunately, my guys are far too old for those.
1This looks great. I probably would have looked for something like this but mine were older when we moved to regular beds (about 2 and a few months). At that point, I just put a rolled up blanket on the floor in case they fell. Both my kids adjusted relatively quickly. Each has probably fallen out of bed a handful of times or less each, but I think the lack of a railing has helped them adjust. At 20 months, I'd use the bumpers but slowly take them off after several months.
2this sounds awesome! Mine has a bit to go on a bid boy bed but he tosses and turns all night like his papa. by morning I'm hanging off the bed and the two of them are all spread out
