Kid Friendly or Are You Kidding? Potty Mitts

If the thought of using a public restroom gives you the heebie jeebies, I've got a product right up your alley.

Potty Mitts ($5 for a pack of 12) are disposable gloves designed to keep kids germ free when using unknown bathrooms. The water-resistant gloves can withstand puddles and splashes and fold up to fit into mom's purse or diaper bag.

What puzzles me the most about this odd invention is the fact that they are not flushable. The company claims this encourages kids to keep them on as they exit the stall and avoid germs on doors, but I wonder how long a little one is really going to keep the gloves on?

Serious overkill. And then mommmy will fold the germy mitts up after being used in a public bathroom and stick in her purse....I don't think so.

I like the idea a lot! Just throw them out when you get to a trash can, but I agree that it may not be easy to keep them on a 4-year-old. I think the packaging is absolutely adorable though!

I think they mean to fold up in mom's purse before use, not after. I also wouldn't expect them to be flushable, they're not for wiping.

What a waste they can't be good for the environment. Also I've only been in maybe 5 or 6 questionable bathrooms while traveling. Just wash your hands already.

I can understand the use but look at the drawing on the package: Do you really want to have your kids' clothes (Pants, undies) touching a dirty potty?

Next, they'll invent kids' potty bunny suits!

Wow, these are a germophobe's dream... You cannot protect your kid from every germ! Nor should you try! Washing hands is completely sufficient and better for the environment than disposable crazy potty gloves. Why don't you just keep your kid in a bubble and never let them out in public at all!
