Motherhood Unplugged

My fingers clicked on the keyboard crafting articles, features, posts and antidotes long before I became a mother. But having my daughter and son has made me more conscious of the time I spend on the computer. It's inspired me to work smarter and faster and become quite the multitasker. While writing is my love and my living, it isn't my life.

This week I'm shutting my laptop, hanging up my cell phone and putting my BlackBerry on the back burner to spend one week of uninterrupted, technology free time with my husband and kids. Instead of spending our days running from jobs to school to errands to activities, we'll leave the car, board a flight, hop shuttles and swim, play and enjoy time without any schedules, deadlines or commitments. I can't wait give my two favorite lil people my undivided attention.

Good for you. I wish that was something I could do. Owning a company that people rely on for their everyday computing needs has its downside. I've gotten better about not opening the computer and just checking email on the iPhone occasionally. Wish I could unplug more often though.
