Teva at ShopStyle

My local playground is filled with children of all ages wearing Crocs. With several styles to choose from, the shoes have become a favorite of parents and tots alike. But watching no fewer than three kids slide right out of their shoes and end up with scraped knees and elbows last weekend, I went on a quest for a functional and fitted waterproof shoe that could easily move between the local park, the sprinkler and the pool.

A quick search brought up more than a few that would serve any active toddler well, including my favorite of the bunch, the Teva Psyclone ($25), pictured in the middle. Its Neoprene fabric is used to manufacture wetsuits, so it dries fast, features a rubber sole and can easily be put on a wet, squirming foot.

What are the other shoes that are pictured? My daughter wears a size 9, and the Teva's start at size 10. She lives in her Crocs, but she has a ton of bumps & bruises from tripping in them, and I'd like to find something a little more sturdy.

Our son wore the exact same Teva last summer and they were terrific!

We would have bought the same Tevas again this summer, but his daycare started a new rule: no open toe sandles OR Crocs. They said too many of the kids had accidents on the playground wearing Crocs.

He now wears Stride Rite sandles with a closed toe.

LL Bean makes a shoe like the Teva that comes in Toddler sizes. I had some for my daughter last year and she loved them.

I bought $6 water shoes from Target for my daughter's twice a week sprinkler days at daycare. They are awesome! I also bought her some closed-toe water sandals from Lands End that are pretty awesome too, although I'm trying to keep those dry for now!

I love those Tevas, but the baby's foot is still way too little. I guess bare feet is fine enough for now.
