Last night's episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8 wasn't all about the twins and sextuplets, it focused on Jon and Kate. And, while there weren't any scenes of kids impersonating animals or eating modeling clay, the couple proved just as interesting. Before they became parents, the mom and dad now beloved for their bickering, banter, and ability to make raising eight children look doable, were a couple of lovebirds.
The home video footage they shared revealed a smitten Kate staring at a starry eyed Jon. There were snippets of their engagement, wedding and honeymoon in Disney World. At 22 and 24, the carefree newlyweds who met at a picnic just after Kate finished nursing school and Jon returned from backpacking though Europe, never suspected they would eventually be elbows deep in diapers and driving a family van. Five years later, they were the parents of eight. And, now as they manage their growing brood, though the affectionate glances may be fewer and further between, they are still there. The thing I love about Jon and Kate is that they are real.
What do you like most about the Gosselins?

Beyond The Valley

what I like best is thier ability to go with the flow, how each of them knows different things about each child, and how they may argue (who doesnt?) but they clearly love eachother.
1I agree. I think one of the secrets behind the success of the show is because they are just being themselves, flaws and all.
And they clearly love eachother, as well as all 8 of their children.
2I loved seeing Kate playful and young. Its amazing to see how they have changed along with the kids.
3I love watching the younger kids interact. They are beyond adorable. I thought last nights episode was really cute. It was interesting to see how John and Kate were before the kids.
4is their age difference only 2 years? last night kate mentioned a few times that jon was so young - i was beginning to think she was a lot older than him. i love the show - i watch it in awe. if it was me, i would run away!
5I love this show so much! My favorite thing is how OCD Kate is about everything.
6I agree the fact that they are just being themselves keeps me coming back for more. I have to watch the show from last night yet - but now I can't wait.
I also love to see the kids and the little comments they come off with!
7i just love this family!!! they are so fun to watch and for as many kids as they have i really think they have it all together!!!! i would be terrified if i found out i was expecting 6 babies....not only becuz thats alot of babies but becuz of the health risks involved.
the little girl Alexis is my favorite she is such a sweetie!
8I liked the videos of them in Disney on their honeymoon, she looked so pretty with her long blonde hair. Very interesting episode, i couldn't believe they were soo young. John was just turning 27 with 8 kids! I remember the 1 hour specials, and I was like I want more! Cara is a cutie, I love rebel Alexis, adorable Aaden with his glasses, Joel the baby, Mady the drama queen, pretty little Leah, Hannah so well-behaved, and big Collin! Such a cute show!!!
9Nothing. I don't like the show at all.
10i love the fact they are so real.
11i have to laugh when i watch it!
I love everything about them.
12I do see that they are so in love, and they are a very strong couple
I love the fact that it is not ME with eight kids, and that I am watching someone else try to cope with a wonderful yet extremely stressful burden!
13I like it that they seem to be honest & at the end of the day there isn't hard feelings. They just love each other & their kids. The first episode I ever watched was when she was picking out the new beds. I was like, "She's insane! They're just freakin beds!" But now I get it, because she is really OCD about that stuff! The kids are just the cutest things ever, both the big girls & the little kids.
14I like watching how even though life for them has changed they're still the same. Did anyone else see Kate ask if the camera was on like five times and Jon finally had to tell her to look at the red light? I was like they've always been that way to each other, it just got louder with the eight kids.
15I love the show! I love how they don't care what others think they are doing whats best for their kids, who by the way are adorable. I would go to the deep end if I was her. I admire them for sticking together and doing the best they can.
16I really enjoyed this episode. They were so cute together and seemed so happy and in love. You can tell they love each other now it's just their life is really hectic and they argue alot
17i hate everything about that show
18I just started watching the show about one month ago and I cannot get enough! I do not know what it is about the show but I love it! I love Kate's OCD she seems so real and she is not afraid to say what she feels! The kids are so cute, the only one that gets me is Mady! I think one day kate or jon is going to say what they really feel about her outburst and put her in her place.
19I LOOOOVE this show. I think that my favorite part is watching the little kids grow and seeing how their personalities develop and everything. They are just so adorable and such a cute family. I love Jon and Kate too. It was crazy to hear that between the ages of 23 and 27 he had 8 kids! I hope they continue to film the show for years to come. Although it would probably start to get annoying, I would love to see the kids continue to grow!
20I love this show! I'm also really excited about Baby Borrowers- it looks really questionable but I want to watch it myself before making any judgements.
21I love the show for the honesty that they bring into everything. That Jon and Kate argue; that the kids cry and scream; the precious moments when you see so much love....
22I love it all.
I love this show, like many has said, because they are so real. We see when they get mad at each other, when their happy and sad. Kate is like Wonderwoman, she does everything plus more for those kids. Jon is so funny and laid back, you can tell he LOVES his kids and his wife.
I love the children, they are so well behaved! They honestly make it seem easy having 8kids but the secret is they way the raise them. They are not perfect but damn near IMO! They even have time to go to church on Sundays!! C'mon, I dont have any kids and at times, Im too tired to make an appearance!.
Alexis is my favorite (though I like them all) she is always smiling and having fun!
Im just hooked on the show, I just love Jon and Kates values, ethics and how they raise their family. I really cant find anything negative about them.
23I do do do love this show and family--its just amazing! I love all the kids, but Aden and the boys are my favorite--when they speak my heart melts!
However, even though they talked about it in the episode Kate does speak so meanly to Jon! I also know moms from where she's from and they say she's rude and expects things to be handed to her--I think she does the best that she can raising 8 kids but that's what i've heard!
24I love them and I love the show because they are so real.
I HATE it when people say Kate is a nag and is snappy - I think, in her shoes, most of us would act the same way. With 8 children who need near-constant attention, I have no idea how they are able to give their children so many neat experiences and fun family activities.
I love the show, and think they are amazing parents!!
25I watch this show with my mother-in-law and we absolutely love them all.
26I have to say that my favorite things are:
1) It's about as real as I've ever seen "reality" TV, and I love that Jon & Kate will admit that they want this to be as honest as possible, and yeah, they aren't perfect either.
2) Jon is HILARIOUS
i love this show! i am absolutely addicted. I followed their story from the beginning and i am still hooked. all though i think all the kids are freakishly cute...i have to say that leah is my favorite...she is just too cute for words!
27Absolutely nothing.
28I've never seen a bigger bunch of whiners, complainers, and fakes. And that Mady has some serious issues.
Sickening. Doesn't even rate a one on a 1-10 scale.
Thank Jon and Kate for sharing their family with us. I sometimes feel
29like I am Grandma visiting them. The kids could not be more adorable
and I miss mine being little. This whole thing is a joy to watch. I do
especially think Jon is really a cutie, and I don't think it is cute that
Kate slaps him so much.
i love all the little things all the kids say.like get of . him will throw up on your hands. and i love how they raise their kids in a christian family home. and how they eat all organic foods. i love you jon and kate plus eight.
