This past week I asked all you cautious parents out there to share your favorite sunscreen brands and let us know what you like about them. You bookmarked your favorite brands in the Lil Marks on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, "sunscreen for kids."
sofi picked a brand I've always been curious about: Mustela Sun Lotion, Bebe High Protection SPF 50, $15. The high SPF on this one is ideal as doctors recommend you look for a sunscreen with SPF of 15 or higher for children six months or older. (The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that babies younger than six months be kept out of the sun altogether.)

Mustela is a wonderful brand. My mother used the brand for me when I was a baby (in the 70's). Every french baby has SOMETHING mustela: the body lotion, the soap...
1The mustela sunscreen is what my pediatrician suggested.
It's a mineral based sunscreen and not chemical which is so much better for baby's sensitive skin.
Although it can get a little messy, as mineral creams can, the advantage is you can SEE where you missed a spot when applying.
What also would be inconvenient with adults is the fact that mineral creams are kind of stick and make you look like a greased duck when you go into the pool but for kids it's reassuring because you can tell his skin is "covered" from harmful sunrays.
I live in marrakesh now where the suns rays are like hells oven and the temperature is above 100 daily. The mustela cream is what I use.
here is an article i found very helpful http://www.revolutionhealth.com/news/?id=hd-605867 you have to be so careful!
2lickety split- good article. I have been really trying to pick stuff with zinc oxide that doesn't break down easily. There are so many products that aren't up to par.
