I was very lucky breastfeeding my son. The biggest "challenges" were waiting for my milk to come in after my unplanned c-section and a couple cases of thrush. I never had bad pain or cracking or bleeding. I used A&D ointment at first, which took care of the little bit of soreness I had, but then everything adjusted, and I nursed him for a long time. I'm hoping it goes as easily this time around!
1The cabbage leaves saved my life. I had no idea what kind-of pain comes with breast feeding.. I put the cabbage leaves in the freezer and would walk around the house messaging my breasts with them on. We for sure got a picture... we laugh at it now.
2The chilled cabbage leaves are also useful if you decide you're not going to breast feed.
3The cabbage leaves were wonderful once my milk came and I felt like I just got implants. My breasts were rock hard then so I used nipple shields cause she couldn't get a hold of my nipples.
