Though my daughter was dressed in pink duds and floral prints for the first 18 months of her life, people would stop and say, "Oh, HE is so cute!" I thanked them for the compliment and wondered how they didn't notice her frilly get-ups. Desperate to put bows in her hair, none were capable of pulling back the few wisps she had on her nearly bald head.
But, now a couple more strands of hair were all we needed for Ribbies. These lightweight clippies have a foam grip to help keep the hair in place without slipping or causing a tot the pain that often accompanies metal barrettes. Good luck trying to pick just one pair of the ribbon adorned clips — they are available in 78 cheery grosgrain varieties.

I have to get some of these for my 2 year old baldie.
1i get all my no slip ribbons on esty. the cost is great and they have many more choices.
2ok this may sound totally weird, but I'll tell you what my mom did when my sister and I were babies (21 & 17 yrs ago).
oh the crazy stuff that moms come up with!!
3We had enough hair from birth to have bows (in fact my grandma used to joke we were born with bows in our hair!). But the bow fasteners back then were made out of velcro. Our hair was too fine and soft for the velcro to hold on. So my mom would put just a drop of syrup (either regular or karo) on the velcro fastener and it would hold it in our hair. It very easily removes with just a bit of warm water and mom said she never had any problems with it hurting us or bothering us.
I'm too distracted by how gorgeous that little girl is to really notice the bows.
kiki, that's what we do with our daughter, only we use surgical lubricant. The hospital actually did it right after she was born (with our permission) and then sent us home with a few bows and tubes of the lubricant to use.
It'll stay for days on her bald little head.
4My aunt did the syrup thing too on my niece. It worked great until the cat figured out that her head had something sweet on it
Little bows make me wish I had a girl. That picture is so cute it actually hurts a little.
