Congrats to them!
Good for her! No one really needs to know as soon as
conception happens. She was waiting to make sure things went smoothly the first trimester.
1I totally understand about waiting to announce after the first trimester. You just never know what will happen. I never thought I would miscarry after having 2 kids but I did and we announced right away and then it was hard to tell everyone I had miscarried. Now, if we get PG...we will wait. Congrats Ashlee and Pete!!
2Hah!
3I knew it!
Shotgun wedding
Congrats to the happy couple!
4I'm glad they politely worked in why they waited to confirm. Pregnancy speculation is a huge peeve of mine. How awful it would be to lose a child and then still see "IS SHE PREGNANT??" splashed across every gossip site.
5I totally agree with you Greggie!
6...and yay for them!
7i think waiting is a good thing for stars, just like greggie said. i hate the is she or isnt she pregnant thing. I feel bad that someone who knew before they announced it felt the need to leak it to the press. so sad how people are these days.
8Babies, the latest fashion accessory. insert eye roll here.
9"mommy why does your nose look different than mine?"
10In today's celebrity culture it's actually kind of cutely old fashioned of them to wait until after the wedding and 1st trimester to make this announcement.
I didn't make my pregnancies known until the 1st trimester was up.
11I won't make mine known until after the 1 trimester either. I think it is a smart thing for them (and others) to do.
12I tell family and friends fairly soon, as well as work. I've had two miscarriages and I need their support if anything happens. And work needs to know because of the chance of me calling in sick early on. I was very glad I'd told work right away with my first, since I was put on short term bedrest at 6 weeks and needed the time off work.
I think it's a personal decision, and what's smart differs for every situation.
