If your lil one prefers a pacifier to your finger you're probably all too familiar with the "drop it, pick it up, wash it, put it back in and drop it again" routine. My doctor recommended washing new pacifiers with soap and water and soaking old pacifiers in white vinegar and water for a few minutes daily to keep them clean.
This works fine if you're just hanging at home, but once you go outside your babe's binky is susceptible to a whole world of different kinds of germs. I used to think of them as useless pieces of extra plastic, but pacifier covers are a simple and inexpensive solution to a very dirty problem and will keep pacifiers clean when you aren't near a faucet.

The options are many: from the relatively fancy sets like this Vice Versa Binky and Case, $12, to simpler pacifiers with built in covers.

how about we just throw all pacificers out and forget the case.
if they fall on the floor, into the garbage they go!
i hate pacificers.
1hey these are cute
2why so adamantly against pacifiers Rally RE?
3I prefer the little clips that attach to baby's clothing to keep the pacifier from getting lost and from getting dropped on the floor.
4These pacifiers are also bpa free (yeah i've been obsessing over plastics these days) i just dunno if he'll go for this... it's shaped differently from this 'bad plastic' one that he's soooo attached to (and only just before sleeping, he doesnt want it otherwise which we're VERY happy about...
anyone have this? whats the baby rating?
5Funny, my mom never used them on us. I have a friend that uses her like its a gift from god. Interesting.
6For some they are little gifts from god.
7My son never used them, never sucked on his fingers, or anything and had a really difficult time finding a way to sooth himself in falling asleep. However, my daughter really loves her paci and it's helpful to her falling asleep Each kid is different!
The AAP now recommends that use of a pacifier may lower risk of SIDS so I for one am happy my daughter takes one!
